What is Void Transaction?
A void transaction is a financial transaction that is canceled or not processed. This can happen if the transaction is incorrect, if there are insufficient funds to complete the transaction, or if the parties involved agree to cancel the transaction. In some cases, a void transaction may be converted into another type of transaction, such as a refund. void transactions are not typically considered to be binding, and as such, they may be reversed or canceled without penalty. However, it is important to understand the terms and conditions of a particular contract before voiding a transaction, as this could result in unforeseen fees or penalties.
How to Void a Transaction
A void transaction is a way for a customer to stop paying for an item or service and avoid being charged for it. In some cases, the merchant can void a transaction at the point of sale or initiate the process proactively. The void transaction will appear as a pending transaction on a customer’s account for a period of time, generally 24 hours to several days. Once a void transaction is completed, the funds will no longer be reflected on the customer’s account.

A customer may change their mind after making a purchase, or may simply want to cancel the entire transaction. In such a case, it is easier to reverse a transaction rather than ring through a refund. To void a transaction, simply click on the ‘Search Invoices’ button on the POS tab. This will undo any changes made to the inventory, cash or other payments, and customer points and credits.
To void a transaction, navigate to the Orders Screen. From here, select the customer, and then click the ‘Cancel Order’ button. This will cancel the payment and change the payment status from Accepted to Cancelled. This can be done for several different reasons, but in general, the process takes less than a minute. If you do not need the transaction right away, you can void the transaction after reviewing the payment history by following these steps.
Another reason to void a transaction is that mistakes can be corrected. For example, a buyer may realize that the price of their purchases was incorrect, and they were charged for the wrong amount. Once the customer picks up the items, they realize that the cashier had accidentally included some items from the next customer. To correct this, the cashier can simply void the transaction and charge the customer the right amount.
IntegraPay
There are several different ways to void a transaction. A customer can notify you by calling you directly, but you can also void the transaction yourself. In most cases, the easiest way is to use the “Void Transaction” feature on the payment processor’s website. You can find the voiding feature by browsing to the “Reports” menu and selecting “Sales.” Next, click on “All Transactions Details.” Once you’ve selected this option, you’ll see a list of all transactions you’ve entered. Select “Void Transaction” from the dropdown list.
Alternatively, you can also use a credit card. Many credit card processing services charge a minimum transaction fee. In some cases, the transaction may be void when the credit card company discovers fraudulent activity. If this occurs, you’ll be notified in the form of an automated phone call. If you’re unable to resolve the issue yourself, you’ll need to contact a credit card issuer or fraud protection agency.
If you do choose to use a credit card, the process of voiding a transaction is simple. The voiding process removes the “Pending” transaction from the consumer’s bank statement. It also removes the “charged” designation. This pending transaction will disappear from the customer’s bank statement within a few business days. However, you can also submit an authorization reversal request to free funds held by a void transaction. This method requires support from the credit card issuer and correct information submission.
Retail POS
Generally, when a customer makes a mistake while typing the amount in a credit card terminal, the transaction is voided. It is a temporary hold on the funds, which will eventually disappear from the consumer’s account statement. In some cases, it may be necessary to manually cancel layby and on account sales. Once this is done, the transaction will appear as Voided on the sales history report.
To void a transaction, find the transaction and click the Void Sale submenu. This action will remove the payment from the transaction and the sale from the Retail POS sales history. In addition, the transaction will not appear on the sales report or in a customer’s record. However, the void will still be visible on the Voids report. In order to reverse a void transaction, you should check the specific requirements of your payment processor.
Voiding a transaction also allows the merchant to make corrections. For example, the buyer might realize that the amount of money they were charged was incorrect. Or the cashier might have accidentally included the next customer’s items. In this case, voiding the transaction allows the cashier to re-scan the items and charge the customer the correct amount. This can help the buyer avoid a future mistake.
